Drew acts like he is a natural swimmer. He will lay flat on his stomach with his head up and stretch out his arms in front and his feet near the surface the water. I took him from one side of the pool to the other he loved it. He loved grabbing on the side and hanging on until he started to fall and I would catch him. He loves blowing bubbles in the water-- though, he mostly just sticks his face or mouth in the water. He also enjoys jumping in from the side. He will hold up both arms up in the sky with a number one and try to count 1-2-3 and then a big smile and lean in for the jump. So fun to watch him have fun in the water.
Jackson has made leaps and bounds of progress with water in the last couple of years. He used to barely get in the pool and just run around the pool edge or play on the stairs for a few minutes. This time around he has felt comfortable enough to put a floaty duck around his waist, jump off the stair and float around by himself! I love that he enjoyed it and is getting used to the feeling of me not holding him in the water. Hopefully by next year with real swim lessons he will be able to do a bit more. He still loves jumping in, but still doesn't enjoy going under water.
It cracked me up that Jackson was content to be in the baby boat for so long and Drew lasted for about 2 minutes.
Thank heavens for Aunt Lauren this week! She has been so good to help me out with the boys and never complain!
Drew blowing bubbles. It is super funny to watch him either just stick his face in, or be blowing air through his lips but not even touch the water.
