Batter Up!

We went to the Lexington Legends game last night with some friends! We had incredible seats right behind the batter and right next to the Founder of the Legends thanks to our friends' boss. I got Jackson all dressed up because I thought it would be a great time for a family pic--he slept the entire time we were there and then through dinner afterward! He is such a sweetheart:)

Nursery Complete!

Jackson's nursery has been in the works since January when I ordered his bedding (the extra sheets, valance, and diaper stacker that I ordered at the same time just came in this week!)-Thanks for buying them Grandma Pam! I must say it his nursery has definitely been a group effort! Papa Larry helped put together the furniture and paint, Grandy bought the shelf and hamper, Sister Blodgett helped with decorating tips, Aunt Julie bought supplies and helped paint the letters along with the cute lamp and picture frame, and Grandma Pam made the valance (I am taking the one that just arrived back to the store because the homemade one is so much cuter), mobile cover, and the changing table pad cover. As of Tuesday the nursery was finished when I put up the letters of his name and Adam put up the shelf. I totally love spending time in there rocking Jackson and putting him down for naps in his crib. Just a side note--he loves his mobile!! The humorous part of that is I was totally anti mobile before and right after he was born because I always thought they were a waste of space and money because kids never used them. Boy was I wrong! His mobile is what enjoys most and entertains him the most! Thanks Grandma Pam for encouraging me to buy it!

Happy Mommy = Happy Baby

I think most parents say their infants smile, and that they aren't gas smiles-- but truly Jackson has seriously been smiling for at least 2 weeks (he is 6 weeks today). He is such a happy baby--probably because he soooo well rested. Right now it is about 6:30 and counting feeding time he has only been awake for about 3 hours! Maybe he is going through a growth spurt and really needs his rest?? So I don't think I have had the same experience that many moms have when at 6 weeks they are totally exhausted and are fighting for any sleep they can get! Instead I have taken a try at Wii MarioKart and totally love it!:) Jackson has already figured out that if I am well rested and get to play a little Wii then he'll be happy too:) He is such a precocious baby!

Visit with Grandy!

Boy did Jackson get spoiled by his Grandy! He got to sleep in her room multiple nights, rocked on demand, went to his first movie in a theater, fed his fist bottle, and was showered with gifts--baby monitors, blessing outfit, busy book for church, a shelf for the nursery, and hampers! Thanks Grandy!!

Jackson figured out fast how to take the bottle and he seemed fine with it. The
only problem was we didn't have any slow-flow nipples for the bottle so it
came out waaaayy too fast and he kept getting too much to swallow.

Jackson's Blessing

Our family had such a special day on May 4th when Adam had the opportunity to give our son his Baby Blessing. It was a wonderful blessing and I am so grateful that we have the Priesthood on the earth that allows worthy male members of the church to act in God's name and with his authority to bless the lives of others. I am excited to watch the blessing be fulfilled as Jackson grows and develops. I know Jackson too will bless the lives of those around him with his sweet calming spirit.

We were privileged to have both sets of grandparents present as well as my two brothers and their families. I appreciate so much the support Adam and I receive from both of our families and I know Jackson will soon realize how many people love him!

His blessing outfit was a gift from Grandy and it fit just right!! I loved they way it looked and it suited him perfectly. It stayed completely clean until we got home and were getting ready to have dinner with all the family who attended and he had his first blowout!! It cracked me up that his first blowout happened to be in an all white outfit. We hadn't taken any pictures of him with Adam and I or of those who participated in the blessing so Grandy and I wiped him down, cleaned the outfit and dried it with a blow dryer so it we could still take pictures:)

SPLISH-SPLASH I WAS TAKIN' A BATH!

What a good sport Jackson is! Seriously, you can do almost anything with this sweet baby and he doesn't make a fuss about anything! He did great in his first bath until he had to come out and was cold! I was in charge of the bath and Adam got to dress him. I think I got the good end of the deal:) I just love to hold him and rock him after he is bathed and smells so clean and yummy!!













--Poor kid, he just wants to get dressed and his mom insists on getting a picture of him with his alligator hooded towel. What a mean Mamma!







Adam has been an absolutely wonderful Dad! I have been so grateful for his help and support since Jackson was born. He never complains when I ask him to change a diaper, get him dressed or to get the aspirator. I love how much he enjoys talking to Jackson and holding him. He always lets me know when it is "his turn" to hold or rock Jackson because I already had my turn multiple times during the night while I fed him. :) I don't usually agree with that reasoning, but he usually still wins.
Adam's Mom and Dad (Grandy and Papa Larry) came into town for a visit on May 3rd, just in time to be a part of Jackson's first bath--and his baby blessing on May 4th.:)

Visit with Aunt Julie and Back to church!

Aunt Julie came for a visit last weekend and we had a great time!! After being taken care of by Grandma Pam for week, I was read to roll by the time Julie came in! Well... I was at least feeling good enough to go on one or two errands a day and get dressed:) The highlights were getting Jackson's name painted on wooden block letters (nursery pics are coming soon, stay tuned), getting the stroller assembled, getting to see my sweet niece Lauren and nephew Brandon, and laughing and visiting with Julie. There is nothing like have a sister and we were so excited that she was able to make the sacrifice to come be with us for a few days. Thanks Julie!!

Jackson hasn't missed a Sunday since he was born--not only is he sweet he is also spiritual:) Although last week was his first week to attend all three hours of church. He was great! He spent the 2nd and 3rd hour with his Aunt Julie and slept all the way through. I thought for sure he was going to need to eat, but being the darling that he is he waited till we got home to wake up. Which worked out really really well because last Sunday was the first time for me to be serve in the Primary as the secretary which required ALL of my energy in trying get kids reverent and into their classes.
The big hit of the day was Jackson in his suit!!! Julie brought it up from Miami for him to wear and we definitely thought he won best dressed for the Sabbath.
