Happy Birthday Jenn!!!

We sure love you Mom and honey. Jackson and I just wanted to give you a Birthday post. We are going to write down some of the reasons that on a daily basis you break the awesome barrier with a boom!

All of you faithful followers should add a comment wishing her a Merry Celebration of her birth day and give a reason why you think Jenn should be arrested for being soo dangerously awesome!

1. Mommy always gets up every single night to feed me-Jackson
2. Jenn always gets up with Jackson to feed him and lets me sleep-Adam
3. Mommy loves to make me happy by reading me books and giving me baths-Jackson
4. Jenn always likes to make me happy, we read books together and have a lot of fun. She also now gets up each morning to make my lunch. That is huge since I would either be late every day with a lunch or on time and starving every day-Adam
5. Mommy is a hottie-Jackson
6. True-Adam
7. Mommy makes me laugh-Jackson and Adam
8. Jenn does so well at thinking of other people outside of our family-Adam
9. Mommy loves to be surprised and loves the anticipation of things-Jackson
10. She doesnt love it when I try to surprise her and scare her by sneaking up on her with a Boo!-Adam
11. I am just soo awesome-Jenn

9 months later

WOW! What a fun age! Today Jackson and I played "ball" I rolled it to him then he smiled and grabbed it and then would "throw" it to me or maybe he just accidently let go of it-- anyway if it came remotely close I would grab it and cheer and he would smile and giggle and kick his feet and wave his hands. He loves playing with his fisher price barn and doughtnut rings and playschool busy ball choo choo train.
I love watching him learn and discover and explore. Sometimes when I leave the room I creep back and peek so I can watch him without him knowing--priceless moments.
He gets excited whenever we get close to the bathroom doore because he loves baths so much!

Other eight month events and thoughts...

* Got his hair trimmed around the ears for the first time. I can't handle a real haircut yet.

* Started trying a bit of table food-- peas, egg yolk, cheese, bananas, and carrotts.

* Started giving cheesey smiles with his mouth open enough to see his darling front teeth (lower central incisors for the dental gurus)

* Started scooting on his bum, because he tries to reach as far as he can so we won't have to be on his belly, then we he can't reach it he brings his foot back in front of him and scoots little by little.

* ROLLS FROM BACK TO TUMMY AND TUMMY TO BACK (only when it is the last resort). He is a bit of a late bloomer but he is blooming:)

* Makes sounds with consanants like dadadada, mamammmamma, bababa, yaayayayaya.

* Drinks from a sippy by himself--and loves when Daddy lets him drink from his glass.

* Can pull up to his knees.

* Developed a love for dogs. We saw 3 or 4 dogs in the past month in different places and each time we saw one (including a huge Saint Bernard) he would giggle, smile and kick his feet and reach to touch it.

* Sleeping consistently for 4 hours or more without waking up (Clarifaction HE DOES NOT SLEEP 12 HOURS WITHOUT WAKING UP! As much as I would like to claim that Jackson's perfectionistic qualities also covers sleeping that is not one of his strong points. If I nurse him each time he wakes up then yes he will sleep for 12 or so hours until he finally get up for good. But he usually gets up at least 2 or 3 times a night.

*Learned about opening presents!

Nine months still isn't long enough for me to forget what it was like to be nine months pregnant! But waking up to him talking and smiling each morning makes it all worth it and it makes me forget that I didn't ever want to experience that again.

a moment

My former boss told me to enjoy every moment of being a mom--she said a moment is 10 seconds. I have really tried to step back and steal a few moments here and there of Jackson's life that I can hold on to. It helps the most when I'm tired or frustrated and am reminded things won't be like this forever.
Since returning from California Jackson has become our little sleeping champ--the last one to wake up in the morning. He's been going to bed around eleven pm and getting up around 10 or 11 am. However, I must admit our little family has made some nice memories the last few nights just playing around waiting for him to get tired. Although Adam is exhausted from a long day of school he's been a great example of enjoying a "moment" late at night. I caught this moment on camera last night and want to keep it forever.
