10 Months!

As excited as I am for Jackson to be mobile and cruising, I must admit, it has been really nice to hang on to the limited mobility for another month.
Jackson continues to veto crawling, although does a much better job of getting onto all fours (or at least 3 and 1/2--He like to keep one leg bent in its sitting position so he doesn't end up on stomach). When he gets on all four he ends up scooting his legs out from under him and wiggling around on his tummy or scooting himself backwards. He does best just reaching and swinging his body and legs around to scoot to where he wants to get. It takes him a while to get real distance. But he's content and so am I.
The last couple of weeks have been a great breakthrough in sleeping!! I am such a wuss and never went back to sleep training after the first time we worked on. The majority of the time now he seems to sleep through the night or get up once!!! It's fantastic. The funny, or weird thing I should say, is that he has been rolling onto his stomach to sleep during the night! I know who would have thought he would sleep longer on his stomach!? The only bummer part of that is when he does wake up he kind of freaks out that he is on his stomach and won't roll over on his own. Rolling over has never been his thing:) He had just woken up in this picture, and yes that is Tigger's arm in his mouth .
He has learned his first two real tricks this month that I think are just darling. He does a high five and now waves bye bye. I never knew such simple things would make me so proud and make me smile over and over.
We really have tried hard to start giving him more and more table food and transition him out of baby food. He still LOVES any kind of rice cereal and will pound it at every meal if we let him--just like his father. His favorite table foods have been lasagna and taco meat with kidney beans.
We have been to a couple of restaurants when he has either been tired or hungry. Both times he was totally into sucking all the lemon juice out the lemon slices from our water. He never made sour looking faces, just kept sucking and chewing on it. funny kid.

Since he starting rolling over in his sleep he has started getting some serious bed head.

Out of my Comfort Zone!

Okay--So this is round two of trying to do a fake flower arrangement in my kitchen. I recognize I am not a natural at this and so I'm calling on all of you "Martha's" out there to give me some suggestions! I wanted a cute arrangement for my kitchen table. I am not willing to trade out the vase so don't suggest that--it's my favorite part:)
I do want to know if you think the flowers work or don't work... what you think of the fruit in the vase..., is the height just right..., yada yada yada you get the point.

Snow Days and more

Happy Birthday to me!

I can definitely say I had a great birthday! Adam pulled through and made brownies in the morning, bought me oil diffusers for my present, decorated the house for a party, and invited people over to visit and celebrate. It was perfect!
The only thing asked for for my birthday was to have the bathroom redone. The wallpaper had been stripped for a few months but I just hadn't found the time to get it all primed and painted. I asked Adam to help me finish it for my birthday. He primed the bathroom and did the base coat. The rest of it was the fun part so I took over from there. I faux painted for the first time and I LOVE how it turned out. It has just the right amount of texture to cover up the damaged walls and the color was just how I pictured it! I loved using my birthday money to go and buy whatever accessory I wanted for the room so that it would be just how I wanted it and I wouldn't have to feel guilty about spending the money. It was so worth it!

We still need to hang the pictures and drill in the toilet paper holder and towel holder but we are closing in!

Lexington was hit hard last week with a snow storm. UK was either operating on a delay or completely canceled for most of the week. I was too nervous to drive so Jackson and I didn't make it out of the house from Monday until Thursday. We loved having Adam home more than usual and took full advantage of it! We were luckier than most and never lost our power. it was beautiful everywhere for days because the ice just glistened and coated everything. Jon and Angela weren't so lucky and their tree fell on their roof. Luckily no one was hurt and they had enough forewarning to move their cars.

Jackson liked playing with the balloons, and Adam and I liked making them stick to him with static. He was a good sport to play but kept trying to slap them away.


Although Jackson has horrible balance still he loves to act like he is walking and he loves to stand up with our help.
