Summer 2009 Part II

When Adam and I went to Youth Conference in July we left Jackson overnight for the first time. It was brutal for me, I cried/sobbed for several minutes and had a hard time walking away. I am so grateful that if I had to leave him for the first time that it was with family! Thank mom and dad! He was a great help I'm sure with watering the flowers, and filling up the bird feeder:)

We love living across the street from the ducks! We also love spending time with cousins!!

I couldn't get enough of the little ducklings! They were born at the beginning of the summer and it was fun to watch them grow up. Jackson mostly gets excited when I ask him he wants to go feed the ducks, and when he first sees them and recognized what they are saying duck. He likes for me to feed them and to watch them from a comfortable distance in his stroller.

My attempt to get a good picture of the two sisters. I told them they could have a treat when if we could get one with them both looking at the camera and smiling. Lindsay wasn't as intersted and Brittany was very concerned that they wouldn't get a treat. After SEVERAL tries, this was the best. We sure loved summer and our playdates with cousins!

The summer was mild but there were lots of beautiful days. Jackson and I made it to the pool a handful of times. Adam only made it a couple. Jackson usually enjoyed the pool for about 20 minutes by sitting in his float, playing motorboat, and jumping in from the side of the pool. After his 20 minutes he was ready to run around the cement and throw his toy balls into the water.

Our vacation this summer consisted of a day in Cincinnati going to the Zoo and stopping at the GAP Outlet. Adam had boards for Dental School on July 23rd and started back to school the beginning of August so there wasn't much time for a trip, but we sure had a fun day together at the zoo! It was so fun to take Jackson from animal to animal and have him watch in amazement.




For $1 you can get buy lorikeet nectar and feed the lorikeets! I think I liked it the most, Adam liked it 2nd and Jackson liked it the least. He thought they were fun to look at, but that is where the excitement ended for him. He did touch them a couple of times and quickly pulled away.


He loved the peguins! We were there when the zoo did "meet the zoo keeper" so we got to be up close!!

Since it was vacation we went all out and bought chicken nuggets that cost as much as admission. He thought he was big stuff sitting in the big chair.

We ended the summer and started the shool year with "my" 4th White Coat Ceremony (Jason Bylund, Jonathan Bylund, Adam Reynolds, and now Josh). Josh, Adam's brother, started medical school here at UK this fall and even though Adam was in school Jackson and I got to go with Jenna to Josh receive his offical Dr. Coat.

Congratulations Josh! We are so excited that you are starting medical school and even more excited that you and Jenna came to UK to do it!

Summer 2009

Okay, so summer 2009 is a little vauge for a post but it's the best I can do since I am 3 months behind in blogging. I hope to be making a come back...

The first highlight of the summer started with Julie and her kids coming to visit! She and her 5 kids and my mom made the 17 hour car ride trip from Miami to Morehead, KY in 1 day. I hope to be a 10th of either one of them some day!

One of the great days we had with Julie and her fam was spent at the Louisville Zoo with all the other cousins! We had a great time. It was Jackson's first trip and he loved the gorillas and penguins and thought the giraffes were pretty cool. He loved the Canadian Geese that were always close by and eating our lunch and snacks. Between my mom and Julie all the girls had matching dresses and the boys had matching outfits. Seriously, you can't go to the zoo and not be matching with your cousins!

We took our first break 20 feet inside the zoo. We had two babies who needed milk and the rest of us had some grapes.

After the zoo, Julie and the girls came to spend the night at our house. Although I was feeling pretty pathetic with morning sickess, we had a good time. We went swimming, watched Tinker Bell movie, and Julie made a DARLING measuring stick for as my gift to her for Hannah's birth. Wish I had gotten a final picture. She did each child's footprint going up the side. It turned out great!

We had our second reunion with our "immediate" family. It's incredible how much we continue to grow and how it just keeps getting more and more fun! We spent the weekend at Lake Cumberland and some of the highlights were getting out of the van on the ferry, trips to the pool, frisbee golf, bingo for the kids, an amazing buffet dinner, and miniture golf.

I got to meet Hannah Lynn for the first time. Such a doll!

Although Jackson enjoyed jumping into the pool, he was totally happy spending the majority of his time in the hot tub. funny kid. He's like his dad--a whimp when it comes to cold water...!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

The only thing my mom wanted for her birthday was a family picture...which evolved into a family picture that only included she and dad and ALL the grandkids. How cute is that?

Who knew you could get 12 kids all looking at the camera without crying in the hot sun? A miracle. Never underestimate a mother's prayer.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

For the second year in a row the 4th of July was a rainy drizzlely day. The good news is that it didn't keep us down! We went to the parade in the afternoon with Jon and Angela's family and my mom and dad. There was very little candy, which were disappointed about. But thrilled about the free snow cones and popcorn!

We went out again at 10 for fireworks that were by Rupp Arena we had a good time despite the everything and everyone getting soaked by the end.

YOUTH CONFERENCE-STAND IN HOLY PLACES

Adam and I had the opportunity to go to Nauvoo and Kirtland with youth of our stake. We were able to tour Kirtland and the temple, walk in the Sacred Grove, attend the Hill Cumorah Pageant, and serve in the Palymyra Temple.
