Thanksgiving Highlight: Christmas Tree!

Adam and I spent the Thanksgiving holiday with my family in Morehead. We had a wonderful time with my parents and two brothers along with their families. Of course mom did a fantastic job with the meal and the new dish for the year was a pineapple casserole--it was a hit!

I have never been one to skip Thanksgiving and move into Christmas, but it turns out taking pictures of people eating isn't near as fun as documenting the cutting down of our first Christmas tree! Jonathan, Angela, Brittany, Lindsay, Mom, Dad, and the two of us went to a tree farm this year to get our live Christmas trees! It was sooo fun! We started out on a wagon that drove us all around the farm so we could pick out a good spot to start hunting for the choice tree! We sang Christmas carols and cuddled under a blanket to stay warm (notice my pink nose:))

After the wagan ride we started tramping along looking for the right tree. We looked at what seemed to have been an entire forest of trees, but we ended up cutting down the second one we looked at! It was a lot of fun and certainly a tradition I hope to continue!

Getaway Weekend!

Last weekend Adam and I took Friday off from work and class and headed up to the nations capital for the weekend and to see one of our really good friends Arie! We had a ball. Adam had never been to DC so we hit a few of the major sights but didn't push to hard since I kept getting tired and hungry:) We mostly wanted to see Arie before he finished his DC internship and headed back to the Y. While we were there we hit a couple of the biggies, ie Washington Monument, Arlington Cemetery, Holocaust Museum, and the Air and Space Museum. We had a divine dinner with one of my former roommates when I lived in DC a couple of years ago. We ate at Carlyle’s and I desperately wish we could go back!!


The drive was about 8 hours and the scenic view was beautiful the entire way! It was a great time of year to make the drive and see all amazing colors along the way. All in all it was a fun little trip and I hope Adam and I continue to do fun weekend getaways...I'm sure it will get harder in the coming months...

True Blue!

It has been a fun week! A highlight was definitely getting our ultrasound and finding out we are expecting a baby boy Reynolds! I am soo excited. Since I was a little girl I always imagined and wanted to have a boy first because I thought it was sooo great that I had an older brother and I thought every family should start out with a boy so all the siblings had an older brother to protect them (and give the family a good name--no pressure:)).
Our little boy was not shy about letting us know his gender. I think my favorite part of the ultrasound, other than finding out our little guy seems to be healthy, was seeing the heart beating. I thought it was so cool to see his heart and watch it as it was pumping. I had no idea it would be such a fun experience. Adam was there with me which made it even more fun. I think he enjoyed it because he knew all the anatomy of the baby and knew everything the Dr. was talking about as they checked the baby.

I included the ultrasound pics not because they are super interesting to any one else, but posts are always more fun with pictures!! The top right one is a pretty good profile, and the bottom left tells us without a doubt that I have a boy in my tummy. And the bottom right of his face just freaks me out!
